in 1996 by Peter Maidens & Todd Foster, both formerly of Lambie
& Poyzer Auctions a then well established auction house in
Napier, Maidens & Foster has since become a Limited Company
owned and operated solely by Todd Foster his wife and family.
After starting in a small retail building in Thackery Street,
Todd then moved the company in 2000 to the Tennyson St premises
where it operates from today.
This building was double the size of where they had started and
the business has over the years has grown with it. The two Auction
Rooms have enabled Maidens & Foster to continue their Weekly
Estate Auctions on Wednesdays and at the same time gather entries
for their regular Antique & Collectables Auctions in the other

Foster prides itself on retaining a traditional and user friendly
environment for customers to buy and/or sell goods.

Covid Update - December 2nd, 2021
the Governments timing to go into the "Traffic Light"
system has fallen on a busy week for us with a general auction
on Wednesday & the Antique Auction on Thursday.
is set to be in Level Orange as of this weekend. This means:
- Visitors Must Wear a Face covering in the Auction House
- Visitors Must use our QR Code or at Minimum Register at our
- Auction Room Limited to 50 People as we will not be enforcing
Note it is very rare that we would have as many as 50 people in
our rooms at any one time.
We would encourage anyone who may be uncomfortable under these
conditions to take advantage of our reliable Absentee system.
